It’s almost time to start breaking into the Easter candy! This year, I discovered the magic of Cadbury Creme Eggs. It’s amazing how many of these fondant-filled eggs are consumed every year. One guy even heisted 200,000 of them! That’s what I call a chocolate obsession.

People eat a lot of chocolate eggs! If you stacked all the Cadbury Creme Eggs produced every year, how tall would the tower be?


The History of Chocolate

The first people to enjoy chocolate may have been the ancient Olmecs, who lived in Mexico. Olmec pots from around 1500 BC were found with residue from cacao pods! Historians believe the Olmecs used cacao in a ceremonial drink, but it’s unclear whether they used cacao beans (which are used to make chocolate) or just the pulp from the cacao pod. Yes, you can eat cacao pod pulp, and people say it tastes like a sweet tropical fruit
