Brrr! Winter may be almost over, but it’s still plenty cold in my neighborhood. The below-zero wind chills inspired me to learn about polar bears, one of the most adept Arctic warriors. These bears have a secret weapon against the cold: their unique skin and fur. I even found out why they can’t be seen on some cameras!

polar bear?

Winter temperatures in the Arctic can reach -65º F! How do they effortlessly combat the cold?


Flashback: 10 Adorable Sea Otter Facts

#1: Sea otters eat about 25% of their body weight each day in sea urchins, clams, crabs, and other fish.

#2: To crack open the hard shells of various shellfish, sea otters place the food on their stomachs, then smash the shells with a rock to break them open!

#3: Sea otters store their favorite rocks and snacks for later in a pouch on their arm.
